Description
The Curious Animator (2014). Acrylic paints on stretched canvas. Unframed, size 16 inches x 20 inches.
This original painting features my son Conor and the Zoetrope prop that I made last year. This is the second painting from my series "Seeing" and features my favourite wood pattern on the floor.
The animator is in the middle of spinning the Zoetrope, watching the little figure inside jump around. The little figure is my youngest daughter Cara who also stars in a few of my paintings.
The series is about looking, learning and assessing what is going on. In reality Conor is a bright little boy and the series aims to capture some of his essence.
